I've been doing photography for Literacy Works for quite a few years now. They are a wonderful Chicago organization helping people of all ages with literacy. Their Writers Circle program is one of their most unique approaches to the issue. In this short video I've tried to describe what they do and learn about the participants. Special thanks to Dan Herman who did some great B-Roll shots and assisted. And to my brother Matt Collings who provided the great motion graphics.

I've been a Chicago-based photographer for over 20 years. My photography career began in Rome, Italy, where I started doing assignments in high school for local papers. I'm a graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in Sociology and a self-taught photographer though I've assisted and learned from many photographers during and after my school years.
My photographs have been published in The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, TimeOut Chicago, and Shutterbug Magazine.
My portrait photography is natural and simple. I make use of natural light as well as sophisticated studio lighting. The goal is always to make you look your best and to convey your look and ideas in a fresh and engaging way.
My studio is at 70 E. Lake Street, Ste. 230 Chicago, IL 60601 / 312-880-7076
